Energy
Energy is a ring-tailed lemur, easily recognized by his bold black-and-white striped tail. True to his name, Energy is full of movement, curiosity, and playful spirit. While most lemur species spend nearly all their time in trees, ring-tailed lemurs are unique—they spend about 40 percent of their time on the ground, exploring their surroundings as well as climbing.
In their native Madagascar, ring-tailed lemurs live in large social groups and are active during the day. They spend their time foraging for fruits, leaves, flowers, and insects. Unfortunately, habitat destruction and hunting have placed wild lemur populations at risk, making their survival in the wild increasingly uncertain.
At EARS, Energy enjoys:
- A secure, enriched habitat with both ground space and climbing structures
- Plenty of opportunities to move and explore, matching his energetic personality
- Social interaction that reflects natural group dynamics
- A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and specialized nutrition
- Daily enrichment activities that support his curiosity and intelligence
Energy’s lively and playful nature makes him especially fun to watch during guided tours, as he is often busy climbing, exploring, or showing off his energetic personality.
