There seems to be genuine concern for the wellbeing of the animals. The habitats are more than adequate and well thought out. However, the staff treats the cats as their own personal petting zoo. Several staff were reaching into cages to pet tigers. No wonder you can’t take photos on the tour. Perhaps EARS should read The Big Cat Public Safety Act (BCPSA). We found EARS to be an exceptionally caring voice for the animals in our community! EARS (endangered animal rescue sanctuary) of central florida, Wildlife Sanctuary, Citra is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to providing lifelong refuge for exotic and endangered animals rescued from abuse, neglect, or displacement and often utilized by The state FWC to place animals when appropriate or calls from local governments as well as private owners whom no longer have the resources or ability to care for their animals. Located in Citra, Florida, the sanctuary offers guided tours to educate visitors about the animals and their stories. The sanctuary is home to many animals representing multiple endangered and exotic species, including lions, tigers, cougars, primates, tortoise, and bears. EARS relies on donations, sponsorships, and tour proceeds to fund its mission and provide food, care, enrichment, and medical treatment to the animals. No photography is allowed in the sanctuary however they do have beautiful photos available for donation to assist in offsetting costs. What a wonderful and educational walking tour! Pro tips: Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for this outdoor walking tour. Call in the event of in-climate weather to be certain the tour has not been cancelled.

One of the most amazing sanctuaries in Florida, the background of the animals and how they been saved and rescued, is amazing.The care and love in the passion that the owner and others keepers put into the animals shows From the extremely fresh and delicious looking food, they serve to bid beautiful, huge cages. I have just started volunteering there and I love all the knowledge that I am learning from everyone about every animal. Their diet, their likes their dislikes and how they happen to come to this wonderful place They do not allow pictures or videos because the focus is on the animals and the safety of the zookeepers.Please look at their social media for beautiful pictures and videos Their lemur Energy is one of my favorite and so is snarf the lion and stripes  their white tiger

The facility was very clean and the animals obviously well cared for with large enclosures.  It was very educational and organized.  We appreciated their commitment to no touch, no photography.
